Kim's 3 wedding dresses by Vera Wang

Kim sure had a fairytale wedding. I've seen both episodes of the wedding special and after seeing it I'm really nervous for my own wedding next summer. It seems it's normal that the couple is hating each other up to the day. I'm already stressed now finding the location, food and all the other stuff on a budget...

Kim wore three different Vera Wang dresses, one more beautiful than the other. To remember her dad Kim had a piece of her dad's old shirt sown into each dress in form of a heart. Kim really has a big heart herself. The wedding was over the top and everything was black and white, even the guests all wore black and white. Which one of her dresses is your favorite?

Kim is in Dubai right now and she looked amazing as she came to her hotel yesterday. I wish I lived in Dubai so that I could have a chance to meet her. Kim Kardashian's wedding makeup tutorial

There's been a lot of pictures from Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding and I thought I would do a post on her makeup on the big day. Mario Dedivanovic did her makeup. Here's what he did:

Skin -
To prep Kims skin, he used The Moisturizing Lotion by La Mer all over the face and neck.

Mario applied Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup by Dior to even out the skin tone.

To cover and highlight under the eyes, he used By Terry’s Touche Veloutee concealer.

He set her makeup using Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder.


Eyes -
He brushed Kim’s brows then filled them in using L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Custom Brow Shaping Pencil in Light Brown.

To define and play up Kim’e eyes, he used Lancôme 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy.  He swept the light golden shade all over the lids and  he applied the darker shade along her crease with a small liner brush.  He used  the lightest shadow on the brow bone to highlight.

Along the lower lash line,  he swept a touch of the golden/bronze shades, focusing more towards the outer corners.

He lined her eyes (top lid only) using Cover Girl Line Exact Liquid Liner in Very Black.  Start out with a thin line at the inner corner and gradually thicken the line as you go towards the outer corners.  Wing the liner up and out.

To give her lashes (both top and bottom)  more length and volume, he applied two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara in So Black!


Cheeks -
On the apples of cheeks, he applied Lancôme Blush Subtil in Rose Romantique. (A sheer peachy tone)  Smile and sweep right on the apple blending out and up.

To warm up Kims skin and contour her cheeks, he used Guerlain Teracotta bronzing powder. He brushed a bit all along the hairline and  jawline.  He  also applied some along the hollows of her cheeks to contour.

He gave Kim radiant, glowing skin with Giella’s Eye M Glam highlighter.  He applied some along her cheek bones to give a dewey effect, on the bridge of her nose, cupids bow (right above the center of upper lip) and  he also swept it along her decolletage, shoulders and arms. Lastly,  he applied it to the inner corners of her eyes using a small liner brush to brighten and open the eyes.

Lips-
Mario defined her lips using YSL Dessin Des Levres lipliner in Nude Beige followed by Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Sand. (A sheer peachy lipstick.)

He finished off her lips by adding a touch of shine with Lancôme La Laque Fever lipgloss in Ravishing Coral. (Very pretty color for any skin tone)

To keep Kim looking fresh from the day and into the evening, he used TATCHA AburatorigamiJapanese Blotting Papers.  (They’re all natural and powder free.)

DAS fall/winter 2011

Yesterday I posted about the Das SS 2012 collection and it got me to do a post about the FW2011 collection too. I love this fall collection, especially the abayas with statement shoulders. My absolute favorite is the last one in the top row in the first picture. 

 Do you remember me doing a post of this amazing picture of Olivia Palermo for Haute Muse. She's wearing a DAS abaya - looks so beautiful. These girls are so talented.

DAS ready to wear SS 2012 collection

DAS is known for their fashion forward abayas and traditional wear. The brand was launched in 2008 by Emirati sisters Reem and Hind Beljafla. Their SS 2012 collection is inspired by Grecian and Roman goddesses with its drapery and subtle pastels.

DAS has a reputation for paying close attention to detail and their keen eye for cut, feel and embellishment shines through in this collection. Braided belts break up solid looks and pleating adds depth to gowns.

While the collection has a heavy focus on long, flowing gowns, their separates give an exciting introduction to what this talented duo is capable of with ready to wear. Particularly well designed were their leggings with metallic highlights that manage to combine edginess with a classic silhouette. Being fashion forward while maintaining respect for the feminine form makes the DAS collection unique in the fashion world, and their cultural heritage has allowed them to create a rich collection combining the best from the East and West. 

I love every piece of this collection. To all of you, who don't wear abayas this collection might look dissapointing to you, but to all of us hijabis and people from the Middle East it's an amazing collection. I love that the abayas have pastel colors. We've been needing stuff like this instead of always black.

You can get the DAS collection at Harrods in London, you can also find their collection at various boutiques in Dubai. I'm going to London October 27 so I'll need to go to Harrods and see what they have.

Yves Rocher review - Couleurs naturenail lacquer , Quick dry fluid and Couleurs nature lipsticks

So this is my first makeup-review ever. I'm reviewing 5 things from Yves Rocher; 2 lipsticks, 2 nailpolishes and a quick dry top coat. 

First off are the lipsticks. They are very creamy and contains sheabutter and abricotoil. They go on very smoothly. They are non-drying and the color payoff is amazing. It comes in 5 different shades and I am reviewing the color Rouge and Rose. I'm only into nude colors on mu lips myself, so the red is too bright for me. I know that bright lips are really in right now so if you like bright red try it out. The rose one is really beautiful for my skintype. 

Pro's: Great color payoff, creamy, contains organic sesamoil

Con's: I don't really like the smell of the lipsticks

On to the next 3 things; the polishes. I was sent the colors rouge and aubergine. I really like the aubergine color. Looks great on and you only need one coat. In the pictures I only have one coat of the polishes on and that's all you need. The quick dry top coat really does dry very quickly and gives the nail a shiny sheen. That's my favorite item out of them all. I really don't have any con's on the polishes. Polishes comes in 16 beautiful colors.
